Pirog does it again!

Pirog is awesome. He is one of the most talented, original, creative writers I've read in a long time, and I read A LOT! I have devoured every single book he has and hungrily wait for more. Lassie is such a cool character -- a total cat: cynical, self-absorbed, feisty -- with an unexpectedly soft side that you don't see very often. But that's a cat for you, right? Murdock is loveable as Lassie's side kick. The dialog is snappy, honest, real, and funny. Pirog has an uncanny ability to make you believe Lassie's really talking without it having the corny hokiness of (and, yes, I'm dating myself) Mr. Ed. Read. This. Book. (And, go download all the Henry Bins books and Oz The Schnoz! Right. Now.)

Cats and Dogs, living together, mass hysteria.

I'd read anything by Nick Pirog but I love how he writes the conversations between Henry and his pets. Not that I'm a pet owner but I can imagine it's what every owner eventually does after a time. His books are funny and full of adventure, always with that inherent sense of anxiety over the finite amount of time that Henry Bins has in his day. Buy, read, laugh, repeat with as many of his books as you can.

Funny, unusual, very unique characters (minor spoilers)

This is the most unique take on mystery/suspense short stories that I've ever read. It's a spin-off of the Henry Bins mystery/suspense books. The cat and the dog are hilarious as seen through Henry Bins. The title is a reference to the sleep condition Henry Bins lives with. His one-hour days compress the plot into an all-out race. Lassie is Henry's cat (or Henry is Lassie's human, depending on your point of view) and his best friend is Murdock, Henry's fathers English Mastiff. The two of them get into trouble while Murdock is at Henry's since Henry sleeps 23-hours a day. You need to read the rest of short story.

An Epic and Senses Shattering Look at the world thru the eye of a Master Pimp!

This book should be made in to a movie. This is most likely the 2nd most cinematic look at the world of Pimping to date. It's only out done by the progenitor of the genre, Robert "Iceberg Slim" Beck's uber classic memoir "PIMP" in it's level of vividity. The Book starts out with a brief and well thought out synopsis on Pimp philosophy. Jimi Starr gives you a matrix red pill tour Morpheus style, and makes a clear case for the Pimp in a world where misandry seems to go totally unnoticed by the masses of men. You can take or leave it, but it would appear that Pimps have had the solution to "Manipulated Man" long before Ester Vilar even thought about putting the pen to paper.

Then Jimi takes you 3000 miles for his home in San Francisco, California to late 70's/early 80's NYC, where he encounters things most people could never even dream of seeing. Things such as child raping corrupt cops (New York in the early 80's? Yes, they existed), homicidal Puerto Rican stick up boys and whores that practice bestiality ( Yes, I said it BESTIALITY). It doesn't stop there, Jimi takes his pimpin' all over the country and even into Canada with wild tales at every stop. You also get to enjoy the side stories, subplots and twist with the familiar characters like "Insane Wayne" ,"Rosebudd" and the legendary "Filmore Slim". There is no reason why this book shouldn't be made into a movie. I can see Anthony Mackie ("Hurt Locker" The Adjustment Bureau" and "She Hate Me") playing Jimi Starr. This definitely a cinematic page turner and one of the best books in the genre.

Wow!! I first heard Bishop Tudor Bismark when he appeared at Pastor Bill Winston's International Faith Conference last year. He made such an impression on me, that when I saw that this book had been published, I immediately requested that the St. Louis Public Library purchase a copy, and I put it on request so that I would be the first library patron to get it. I ordered this book in October 2011, the library purchased it in February 2012. I kept waiting for an email from the library to tell me to come and pick it up. I finally called them in June and was told they were having some problems cataloging it,(WT@@!#)and they would send it right out to me. Well another month went by, and I finally just deleted the Hold for the book, and last week, I just picked up a copy at another branch. This book is so good, that I'll be purchasing my own copy next week, because basically this is a work book. Totally awesome if you are looking to expand your role in the Kingdom of Heaven.

My church has been in an Apostolic shift and it gave so much understanding of where
we are and what we need to do!, for where God is taking us. I bless God for this Apostle

A Great Historical Perception

Many readers may view the English novelists of the turn of last century as sterile and dry. This is a mistake made by the newer generations who have been beguiled by television and modern film making. One gains understanding and perspective of the past through the eyes of various writers and we can begin to see that so many of our problems in this world are of our own making. The social constrictions, the injustices wrought by the well meaning guardians of society, even the arts and sciences can conspire against us. Yet the human condition remains today just as it was well over a hundred years ago.

This novel is the first in a series of writings, three novels and several shorter stories, that make up the Forsyte Saga, a serious reading of the change from Victorian to Edwardian England and beyond. For those who wish to become authors, a serious reading of these works reveals how stories may be told. For the more historical minded, one comes to appreciate the changes in society and how they are wrought. John Galsworthy is a splendid writer and worthy of reading on many different levels.
